Ride On Lawn Mower, Castel Twincut Hydro 13.5/92. For Spares Or Repairs

This Twin Blade, 92 cm width cut, ride-on lawnmower is for sale, and is currently not working. Through my own fault, the engine overheated, the big-end seized, snapped the con-rod, and has been damaged. I have opened the (Briggs and Stratton single cylinder) engine up, and the following items are broken and beyond my economical repair. Connecting rod, Engine Counterweight Woodruff key. The Crankshaft could (maybe) possibly be salvaged with careful re-honing, but if I was mending it, I would replace it. The piston and Bore seems to be unscathed, and as this is a side valve engine, the valves and stems are undamaged, as is the camshaft. The base of the cylinder has been slightly damaged inside the engine, but this is outside of the lower piston reach, and could be gently re-honed with a fine curved file or Dremel type tool. You would also need a full gasket set to rebuild this engine, and fresh oil.. I have checked, and all these parts are all available from Central Spares website if you intend to repair the motor. I priced these new components at approximately £460 if you include replacing the crankshaft, and other general service items. (The crankshaft alone is £200) I have decided that it is not economically worthwhile for me to repair this mower, but you may think it is justifiable, so I am selling it for spares or repair. I have also therefore not put a reserve on this mower. This mower is otherwise in excellent condition for its age, and has benefitted from a new replacement steel twin blade cutting deck, blade shaft and belt, which I rebuilt in July last year. This new deck, I believe could be used on some of the modern twin blade Mountfield mowers (and others). It was expensive. It also comes with a very good condition detachable grass collector box. It also comes with a good condition mulching attachment. One of the front tyres has a very slow puncture. This mower has been garaged from new, and cleaned after every use. I have re-fixed the broken engine back onto the mower, after taking out the broken items, rather than just bung it all in a box. I have kept the broken bits separately in a bag for inspection by any potential purchaser. I only lightly retightened the engine bolts and tapered shaft nuts, such that it would be easier for someone to take apart again if they intend to repair it, rather than use the mower just for spares.
