This lawn tractor has been kept in a garage since new and is still in regular use. But either it needs a new cutting deck, or the current one needs to be repaired. As shown in one of the photos, holes are appearing in the sides of the metal cutting deck, and cut grass is now poking through at least three such holes. The cutting deck is twin bladed with a 36 inch cut (92 cm). Of course, the 12.5 HP Briggs Stratton engine starts reliably and is still in fine working condition. The electric starter works fine also. I ve never had to touch the engine or carb. I changed the oil about three years ago. The driver s seat seems to be structurally sound, but the surface has degraded. This is why I wrapped it in a black plastic bag about four years ago and haven t messed with it since. The two front lights work, and the safety cut-outs stop the engine if, for example, you get off the seat while the engine is running. Currently, a small motorbike engine is installed in this mower. It has a smaller capacity than the specified battery, but works fine. The upper speed gears are no longer selectable, resulting in a speed suitable for cutting - but nothing faster than this. I suspect, but do not know, that weak spring tensions are affecting V belt tension so that the drive belts are not playing nicely with the variable speed pulley. The variable speed pulley itself seems to be working fine. The grass box is in fair condition with no significant holes or gashes in the collection bag. Having said that, one of the photos does show a point of abrasion -- but this does not affect operation of the bag. The lever arm originally supplied to empty the grass box from the driver s seat is missing. Personally, I ve always preferred to hop off the tractor and unload the grass box manually anyway. I have owned this tractor for 4.5 years, and believe the mower to be about 13 years old.
