Hayter H1842 Ride On Mower

It hasn t been used much over the last few years as we have nowhere to put the clippings and so need to use a mulching mower. As such the battery that is on it is usually dead but the cutter starts with a small jump starter we have. It sometimes takes a couple of turns of the key to get the starter motor turning so I think one of the safety contacts could be on its way out. Once it s going it runs fine, the drive works as it should. The blades sometimes take a bit to kick in from the switch on the dash but they disengage as soon as they are switched off. I tried it just before I took the photos and everything was working ok including the sweeper, the only problem (which may not be a problem) is that it seems to cut very short. When I tried it I had it on the second longest setting and it cut the grass shorter than our mulching mower on its shortest setting. We did replace the belts, sharpen the blades and repaint the deck when we got it so something might not have gone back quite right but I m not sure. The two front tyres also have a slow puncture. It needs some tlc and a bit of a restore but it does do what it is supposed to and would make somebody a nice mower. Viewings are welcome and cash on collection.
